Planking timber , milling gold

Finding big logs during the course of our tree work is sometimes as exciting as discovering lumps of gold! We’re planking a sweet chestnut log in the woods near Penzance. Though not considered ‘native’, the species produces fabulous, durable timber. I found a nice little article here:
